#BlackHistoryMonth: Vogue Gets Some Color

In August 1974,  22 year old Beverly Johnson becomes the first African-Amercian model to appear on the cover of  American Vogue. I salute her and other legendary models such as Naomi Sims for paving the way for Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Kimora Lee Simmons, Alek Wek, Iman, Selita Ebanks, Jessica White, Liya Kebede, Chanel Iman, and many other models of color. As corny as this sounds, thank you Ms. Johnson for showing us and the world that Black is beautiful.
